My name is Eric Fiszer. The chapter recently elected me Worthy Master. Our chapter has the potential to excel above and beyond what we have already accomplished. We have this potential because we have solid active members, as well as, alumni that are involved and care about this chapter.
Our active members have gone above and beyond what is required of them this semester. This began early in the fall semester during recruitment. In the short time that I have been here, I have never seen the chapter participate in recruitment to the extent that they did this fall. This outstanding effort has produced a good pledge class. Our goal for recruitment this fall was to obtain quality young men and we have accomplished that goal. The chapter has continued to improve academically, and members have become more involved on campus by joining other organizations.
As we move forward as a chapter, an area that we would like to continue to improve on is our relations with our alumni. I would like to invite each and every one of you to come to the house if you have the opportunity. The chapter would be excited to have you visit. Every newly elected president has a vision for what he would like to see the chapter accomplish during his presidency. My number one priority as president is to do everything I can to help achieve our goal of beginning construction on the new house. I will encourage our members to contribute to the order of 1968. In addition, the chapter needs to become involved in fundraising for the new house. We are eager to do our part. Our chapter has continued to improve its financial situation. However, there is still much progress that needs to be made. In the upcoming months the new executive board will have a retreat in order to discuss ideas and set the agenda for the upcoming semester. During this retreat we will discuss our budget. Our fraternity provides a lasting brotherhood grounded in principles that are dear to each and every one of us. However, our fraternity is much more than this. Our fraternity is also a business, and we must allocate our finances appropriately. Our main financial goal will be to remain current on our bills, and to appropriate money for the new house. The “new house fee” has not yet been added to our dues and fees. However, this will be discussed during the executive retreat and I am confident that the chapter will be supportive of such a fee. In addition, other fees and fundraising ideas will be discussed. The chapter is also about to begin the process of repainting the houses we currently own. I look forward to updating you on our progress as a chapter. In addition, I will inform you of the decisions the chapter will make in the upcoming month concerning the new house. I am excited to see the progress that we can make. We have the potential to realize our goal of constructing a new house, and we thank each and every one of you that have contributed not only your money, but your time to this project. This chapter would not be here today if we did not have alumni that are committed to this chapter. I am confident that we can all work together to reach this goal.
