A Letter from Tim Ingram '87

Dear Brothers,
22 years ago. Doesn't seem like it. I can't be that old. But I am. 22 years ago this month, in a room long demolished in the old Reng Center, I had the good fortune to join the brotherhood of Alpha Tau Omega. My how things have changed in 22 years. I am now firmly entrenched in my career. I have a beautiful wife, two beautiful kids and I was blessed with the opportunity to come home to Northeast Arkansas and run KAIT in 2007. I have had a lot going on. My work and my family takes all my time. I haven't been to the ATO house but once in those two years. I should do better. Recently, I had the opportunity to take a private tour of the campus.
The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs took me around campus in a golf cart and showed me just how much had changed in while I had been away from Jonesboro. I halfway expected him to take me to the University Police station to settle up on some long overdue parking tickets, but that didn't happen. I was amazed at how much had changed in those 22 years. Delta Hall...gone. Twin Toilets...gone. The Reng Center is not really gone, it is under the student union...somewhere. And the construction continues. It is really becoming a beautiful campus. When it comes to ATO, the faces have changed many times over in 22 years. The house has changed addresses several times. Some things however, have not changed. Sitting at a recent board of Trustees meeting, that rang true over and over again. We're still one of the smallest fraternities on campus. We still struggle to grow. We still have the worst house on campus and our members don't typically come from the wealthiest families. But they are good brothers. They work to pay dues. They have to work hard to keep our fraternity going. They are involved on campus AND they make good grades. They have to endure the same things that we ALL endured whether it was 10, 20, 30, 40, or even 22 years ago. I can tell you, we wished for help then. They need our help now. If you can help, Donate Now.
